I have been looking for information on Christiana Brailsford, also, but have not located much on the Skrines. I believe Christiana was a daughter of Morton Brailsford, II (d. 13 OCT 1803) and his wife, Mary "Polly" McCormack.

Possible brothers: Alexander Morton Brailsford (d.30 OCT 1825) and James D. Brailsford (d.17 SEPT 1826). Both were probably unmarried.

Possible sister: Harriett B. Brailsford (d.4 May 1845) married Joseph Bridgham Paine.

Possible sister: Annie Goodwin Brailsford (Elizabeth?) (d. 30 Sept 1839). Annie married Edward M. Beckett.

There are legal documents linking the Paine family to Alexander Morton Brailsford and the Becketts. A legal document dated Feb.21, 1833 lists Edward Beckett as a guardian of "Mrs. C. Skrine children".

I did locate a T. C. Skrine, 49 yrs. old on the Charleston, SC 1860 Census and a Thos. C. Skrine, Physician, on the Charleston 1870 Census. Christiana's son?

Dianne
