I found the following obits in a cigar box kept by my grandfather and thought I should share the info.
MRS. MAUDE BRAMEL DIES IN FLEMING (My grandfather wrote 10/23/63.)
Ill many months, Mrs. Maude Humphries Bramel, 76, a lifelong resident of Fleming county, died Sunday at 10 pm at her home on Route 1, Flemingsburg. She was the widow of Elza Bramel, whose death occurred in February 1961.
About six years ago Mrs. Bramel suffered a fractured hop and since that time she had been in failing health.
Mrs. Bramel was gentle, good, kind, the sort of fine person who stayed cheerful and serene through suffering and was an unfailing source of strength to those about her.
She was born March 21, 1877, the daughter of Marshall and Margaret Humphries.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Bramel, of Flemingsburg, and Walter Bramel of Route 1, Flemingsburg; a sister, Mrs. George Pearce, of Elizaville, and two granddaughters, Mrs. Pauline Warner, of Marion, Ind., and Mrs. George Watson, of Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at the Moxle Funeral home in Flemingsburg, with the Rev. Arthur Jackson and the Rev. H. M. Reeder officiating. Burial will be in the Elizaville cemetery.
The remains are at the funeral home where friends may call.
MRS. LUCY BRAMEL (My grandfather wrote "Buried 4/21/70".)
Mrs. Lucy Bramel, 79, a former resident of Maysville, died Saturday in the Brown County Hospital, Georgetown. She had been ill for some time and death was attributed to complications.
Mrs. Bramel, widow of Lott Bramel, was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, and was a daughter of the late J. R. and Judy Osborne Reynolds.
She is survived by eight children who are Mrs. Coleen Jones, of Route 1, Georgetown, whith shom she had been making her home; Mrs. Beulah Gray, of Route 1, Felicity; Mrs. Betty Gilvin, of Mishawaka, Ind.; Mrs. Mabel Hoy, of Lapaz, Ind.; Mrs. Maxine Jones, of Winchester, O.; Earl Bramel, of Maysville, Charles Bramel, of Osceola, Ind.; John Bramel, of Tipp City, O. Thirty-five grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren also survive. She also leaves two brothers, Kay and Dan Reynolds, both of Olive Hill.
Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday in the Cahall Funeral Home, Georgetown, and burial will be in the Shinkle Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 pm today.
