Sherry, anything is possible but I've never heard of the name Branch being shortened for an Indian name. It's a name from England. If you have any male Branch descendants, I suggest you have their DNA tested. I recently had a family line of mine tested that was believed to have been Indian. It proved the story we had all been told was not true. You'll know if your Branch ancestor's father was an Indian once you have the DNA tested. Good luck!
