Mary Brannif James Convery

Hi I am in Scotland and I hope someone can help me as i am stuck here.
While researching my paternal line of Convery my great grandfathers Marriage Certificate states the name of his mother (my g.g.grandmother) as Mary Brannif or Brannaf (the writing isnt very clear).I have been trying to decipher the surname for months now and came across this site ... thankfully quite by chance.... i imagine she could be some relation to the Ballyphilip Brannifs.
As Convery is very prevalent in that area also it seems likely, but i cant find my gg grandfathers birth certificate to confirm this, therefore i dont have a marriage date for Mary and James (my g.g.g/f).
Both were born in Ireland and from what i know died there also.
From what info i have Portaferry has always been where my father spent his youth round about Strangford loch area, but now at 87yrs old his memory is not so good and he cant remember names of actual towns.
Mary and James' son James Convery (Born c1844) (my g.g/f) left Ireland as a boy and travelled to USA then somehow eventually settled in Glasgow in Scotland, marrying in 1871. My grandfather also James Convery was born here in 1872.
Plenty of Converys still live here.
I would be eternally grateful for any info someone may have regarding Mary ...... many thanks in advance xx

Mary x
