My husband's grandfather was John Franklin Braneff (they spell
it with an E)No one knows anything about him as he appeared in Sugartown, Louisiana in 1857 pulling a freight wagon. He
spoke with a lisp or a heavy accent but the name sounded like
Braneff and he agreed but no one ever knew his past history.
He married in Texas and lived out the rest of his life in
Louisiana. He has MANY descendants in Texas & Louisiana. Some
have said he was from Ireland. He married Ellender Drake and
she is a descendant of the well known Ashworth line as is my husband. Do you have any info on a missing man from the past?
