George Ann,
The Elizabeth Brannock you are looking for is probably from southern part of KY.I just looked at website on Pelleys and find several references to Adair and Casey Cos. KY. I previously mentioned that there were some Brannocks in 1840 and 1850 in so. Ky who were not in the immediate family of Robert from Bourbon/Harrison which are northcentral in KY.
On the 1850 census Casey Co, KY (close to Tenn line) is Betsy 24 Brannock, "spins and weaves" b. KY, and with her is Samuel 4, b. KY.--A widow??
Earlier in 1840 Adair Co (next to Casey)census were John Brannock and Robert Brannock(different from the Robert Brannock who is on the same census in Harrison Co)
I suspect that your Elizabeth Brannock b. KY is of those southern KY Brannocks who are all gone by 1860 census. I believe these Brannocks probably migrated to KY from NC via a southern route.
Could the Betsy age 24 on the 1850 census be the Elizabeth you are seeking? On the 1860 census you mentioned, does she have a son Samuel who would be about age 14 at that time?
If not, could she be related to either the John Brannock or Robert Brannock on the 1840 census in Adair Co, KY? Sorry I have no information about them.
