D.A. I have a copy of John Brant's military and pension records. It's interesting reading. He really went thru a lot of trials and tribulations to get his pension. He does not mention anything about George Washington, so I doubt that he was an aide. If you are near a regional National Archives repository, you could get a copy made. Let me know if you find out where John is buried. My husband's family descends from Joshua Bosworth Brant one of John's sons. Joshua moved to MO after the War of 1812.
