Pamela, it is possible that James S and John H are brothers. According to the 1850 Fed Census for PA Blair County, Woodburg Twp, Williamsburg PO, Reel 755 dated 29 Jul, page 19, dwelling 253, family 260 -

John (M, 49, bn PA, cooper)
Susan (F, 40, bn PA)
James (M, 18 bn PA, laborer) - my grandfather
George (M, 14 bn PA)
John (M, 10 bn PA)
Steward (M, 7 bn PA)
Isabel (F, 3 bn PA)
Mary C (F, 16 bn PA)
