I don't have much. Just Harriet Oakes's testimony that he had two children, both of whom died young. Here is a snippit from Vol 5: Two Brashear Families of the Lower Mississippi Valley.
?
ELIZABETH BRASHEAR and JOSEPH FISHER
83. Elizabeth Brashear, (d/o R.T. "Turner" Brashear and “a daughter of
Taboca”), b. c?1795; in order to have her second child by c1810-13, Elizabeth
would have to be b. c1795. Harriet Oakes testified that Elizabeth and her
husband "lived right there in the neighborhood, where we all lived," i.e. the
Rankin area, 12 miles from the Pearl River. Elizabeth d. in MS before 1832, i.e.
before the Choctaw Removal, per Harriet Oakes; m. in MS, Joseph Fisher, (a
white man).Joseph Fisher d. in 1852 or 1853 at age 96, according to a
grandson, Joseph R. Lawrence (see Choctaw Enrollment Card #5187).
Joseph Fisher moved with the Everidges to Indian Territory in 1832,
where he m.2. Patsy Hayes, a full-blood, and "lived down beyond Doaksville."
Eva (Brashear) Everidge continued to think of Joe Fisher as a brother in law
and often went to visit him, taking Harriet and Joel with her. Fisher's children
by his second wife included:
Narcissa Fisher, m. Gov. Basil LeFlore;
Rebecca Fisher, m. Forbes LeFlore;
Cynthia Fisher, m. William LeFlore;
Sarah Effie Fisher, d. c1862; m. Dr. Davis;
D. Osborn Fisher; and
Sidney Fisher.
Harriet (Everidge) Oakes described Joe Fisher as "a small man, raw boned,
just like he had been sick and fallen off to nothing but skin and bones. He was
a diseased man, (had a kidney and bladder disease) and he wilted away to
nothing." It took him a while, though: he had at least eight children by two
wives. Grandson Joseph R. Lawrence, who lived with Joe Fisher when a child,
testified on 30 Jan 1907 that his grandfather died when he was 14, i.e. c1848.
Family of Elizabeth Brashear and Joseph Fisher:
98.91. Silas D. (or G.D., per his family bible) Fisher, d. bef. Civil War; m. Polly
or Molly Kelley. They had 2 children:
99. 101. "a little boy; got stung by a centipede; crawled across him; the
mark rotted and he died" (per Harriet Oakes)
100. 102. "a little girl; caught fire and died" (per Harriet Oakes)
Cheers,
Charles Brashear
