My Brasher ancestor, Aquilla (- 3rd s/o Thomas L Brasher of Greenville Co. SC ) and his wife Hannah, sold land Greenville Co. SC land in 1833 and arrived in Shelby Co. AL soon after his brother, Henry, sometime before 1835.Aquilla diedca. 1841-2 in Shelby Co. AL.
Aquilla's 2nd son, Micajah b. ca.1800 (my line) left Shelby Co. AL ca. 1838 and appears on the 1840 Pontotoc Co. MS Census and had settled in Houston Co. TX by 1845-48.
If you have the BRASHER SAGA, there's an interesting account of their leaving Shelby Co. on p. 89.
Too bad your mother>daughter>daughter line isn't the Brasher one - that would have been interesting.Mine isn't either. My mother's father was the Brasher.
