Carl BRAUNS - royal forester, Falkenhagen/Spandau, Brandenburg, Prussia married to Charlotte UTHEMANN, parents of Carl Christian BRAUNS born 1820. Carl C. BRAUNS, gunsmith, was from Wiepke, Saxony, Prussia in 1857. He emigrated to America in 1857. Settled in Defiance County, Ohio. Last name was changed to BROWNS. August BRAUNS, gunsmith of Calbe, Saxony, Prussia and family, (wife-Elisabeth, sons - August, Ferdinand) emigrated to America in 1852 and settled in Clarke County, Iowa. Their name was also changed to BROWNS. August was born in 1808. Heinrich BRAUNS remained in Wiepke in 1859. Carl C.BRAUNS was nephew of August BRAUNS. Unsure of relationship of Heinrich to any yet. Currently having letters translated. More names may show in future letters.
