Looking for information on Daniel Brautigam and his descendants. There is a Daniel Brautigam who appears in the 1755 Philadelphia County census Index. This Daniel is described as brother-in-law to Mary Leebrick Newman in her will, and is said to be of Northern Liberty, Pa. Daniel was co-publisher of a popular German language calendar and almanac. His name appears on the cover sheet from 1779 through at least 1800 as publishing in the Lancaster area.
Middle name from marriage records at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Pa.

Daniel was born in 1754, married Margaret Liebrich in August 1775, died in 1830 in Philadelphia, and is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, St. John's Lutheran Church in Philadelphia.

His son, Daniel, Jr. was also a native of Philadelphia, where he was born March 30, 1788, was in business for some years, individually or in Partnership with others, at a stone building on the northeast side of Queen street between Water and Front, now occupied by Straub's feed store. He was appointed prothonotary of Northumberland county, January 29, 1836 and filled that position until February 5, 1939. He died March 10, 1863, probably in Northumberland.

For further information on connections to the Liebrich family, I invite you to my web site http://www.freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~leebrick
