Steve, THANK YOU for directing me to usgenweb. Had the old one on my "favorites" but found the site moved & have had trouble finding again. Wow, what a wealth of information available for Lincoln Co.,KS!
In answer to some of your questions:
1. Michael (the dad) died between 20 September and 03 October 1842. As stated in earlier reply, Henry (the son)died after the 1840 census and 20 September 1842 - MOST LIKELY in Amanda Twp.,Fairfield Co.,OH.
2. On the 1860 Pickaway Co., census - the Michael (27) & the Catherine (24) BRADIGUM are brother & sister. AM CERTAIN that is "your" Michael since the census date is 12 June 1860. Michael didn't marry until 20 September 1860. Catherine (sister) is still unmarried when she appears on the 1870 Fairfield Co.,OH, Census - Amanda Twp., p. 1. [She is living with my ancestor, Elizabeth RIFE/REIFF - her aunt. This Elizabeth BRAEUTIGAM RIFE/REIFF is a younger sister to Henry. AND Elizabeth's husband Jacob REIFF/RIFE is a younger brother to Anna Maria REIFF KEMP BRAEUTIGAM - Henry's wife.] *Is that confusing enough?
3. John BRINTIGAM who m. Eliza BROWNBACH is VERY LIKELY a brother to "your" Michael & Catherine
4. Francis W. BRINTIGAM is a NEW ONE FOR ME. Will continue to check it out!
At some point soon, contact me through the 59bison e-mail & send me your snail mail address. I can send you Michael's(the father) will & codicil + some other "goodies".
