I have traced the Brautigam/Bradigum name in my branch back to the mid 1700's. I am overseas right now so I don't have access to my resources.
From what I can remember off the top of my head, Benjamin Bradigum was born in Pa in 1785, son of ____ Brautigam and Maria Barbara Nagale. He moved down to Hardy Co, Va (Wva) with a relative ca 1810. Benjamin is listed in the 1830 Hardy Co va census with some children, one of which was probably Orpha Bradigum, who married Edmund See in Hardy Co, Wv in 1832 then moved on to Benton CO, Mo where she fell off of a horse, remained in a wheelchair for the remaining months of her life and died around 1898.
Orpha was my g-g-g-grandmother.
Would like to hear from anyone who knows about this line.
Jeff Polly
