We have traced the Brautigan family name through the Eastern US arriving in Baltimore in the 1850's and through the Newark, NJ area from mid 1850's to mid 1930's. The original name we were able to trace was a Freidrich Brautigam. Freidrich fought in the Civil war for the 3rd NJ Regiment, and survived to live until the 1880's in Newark NJ. Any information on Brautigam/Brautigan in the Newark NJ or other locations in the US , also any info on the the Brautigam/ Brautigan family in Baltimore or Germany would be greatly appreciated.
We have traced the family through the Civil War, but can not get any strong info for pre-American Civil War
Best Regards
Mike Brautigan
