Charlene, I am Ruth Cole Day and Russell Cole was my ggg grandfather. You are probable right that there is a connection. Russell's son Zina moved to LaPorte County, IN in 1854. Russell's daughter Mary married Eli Black and they along with Russell's son Thomas went to the same place only much earlier. Probably around 1820 to 30.
I will be glad to share my info with you. I would also like to know more about Mary Brayton. Both Mary and Russell died young. I wonder who raised the children. I have a picture of Mary headstone from Kingsbury, NY, Moss Street Cemetery if you would like it. Sincerely, Ruth from Filer, Idaho
