John Kendall & Rose Brian Breeden
Interested in learning more about the family of John Kendall & Rose Brian Breeden/Braden of Orange County, VA. I have the IGI listing of their children as:
John Kendall b. 1770 Orange County, VA
William Kendall b. 1772 Orange County, VA
Edith Kendall b. 1774 Orange County, VA
Elizabeth Kendall b. 1776 Orange County, VA
Mary Kendall b. 1778 Orange County, VA
Does anyone know if there is any proof that these were their children? I did find a marriage record for: Polly (Mary) Kendel, d/o John Kendel m. 27 March 1804 Zachary Petty Orange County, VA.
My ancestor was Elizabeth Kendall b. ca. 1778 VA; d. after 1850 Floyd County, VA; m. 1 December 1801 Montgomery County, VA to Benjamin Howell. It has been thought that she might have been the Elizabeth listed as a d/o John Kendall & Rose Brian Breeden. Does anyone know if there is any proof? There was a James Breedin & several Bryants listed in the 1789 Montgomery County, VA tax list. The 1810 Montgomery County Census lists Ambrous Briant living 4 doors away from Benjamin Howell who m. Elizabeth Kendall.
I have a transcribed copy of the estate settlement of John Kindall, 1791 Orange County, VA. Rossana Kindall is listed, which is apparently his widow, Rose. Also listed is Edward Bryant, who received money "for the benefit of the children", which seems to indicate a close relationship to the family. The 1790 Orange County, VA Census lists John Kendal next door to Edward Bryant. Richard Breeden was listed with John Kendall in the 1769 tax list, which seem to indicate a relationship with the Kendals & Breedens. Does anyone have further information on Richard's d. Ann? Could Rose/Rossana have been the Ann listed in the 1753 Culpepper County, VA deed which lists the children of Richard Breeding? It would seem Rose/Rossana was either a Breeden who m. 2) a Bryant or a Bryant who m. 2)a Breeden, after John Kendall died.
Would appreciate any comments or help.
