Wondering if anyone has made a connection between the "Breeden" family and the "Beeding" family of Montgomery county Maryland. I have never found Joseph Breeden on a census for Calvert county but thier is a Joseph Beeding on the 1790 and 1800 Montgomery census records. Maryland Colonial Census, 1776 Record about Joseph Beeding Name: Joseph Beeding Parish: Fredrick County: Montogomery State: Maryland Estimated Birth Year: 1751 Age: 25 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 1790 Montgoemry Census 91 1 Beeding Edward 3 (16+) 2 (-16) & 4 females 91 10 Beeding Thomas 5 (16+) 4 (-16) & 3 Females 91 12 Beeding Joseph 1 (16+) 4 (-16) & 3 Females + 6 Slaves <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 1800 Montgomery Census 35 Joseph Beeding - 1 1 1 0 1 | 1 1 1 0 0 | 0 | 10 | B352 | 38 James Beeding - 1 0 0 1 0 | 1 0 1 1 0 | 0 | 0 | B352 | 30 Charles Beeding - 1 0 0 1 0 | 0 0 0 2 1 | 0 | 0 | B352 | BY 1810 all traces of this family grouping are gone from Montgomery County. Looking at the actual records the name could be transcribed as Beeding or Breding with a shortened "R". If not the line from Calvert then it maybe a place to look for one of the other son's of Mark Breeden of Maryland. I do not have a direct connection to this line simply researching it as I frequently run into descendents of it as I research the family line of Richard "Cross" Breeding of Culpepper County Virginia.
