William Breen or Henry Breen Armagh Ireland
Posted by: Bart Breen (ID *****3361) Date: May 11, 2007 at 11:26:47
  of 1283

My great-great grandfather was William Breen who was born in County Armagh Ireland, May 2, 1835.

His parents were Henry Breen and Isabella Riddell. About the time William was born and following, Henry and Isabella resided in Drumard (Jones,) Kilmore Parish, in County Armagh.

William Breen married Annabelle McCann, daughter of Terrence McCann. I believe Annie was born in 1832 in Belfast County Antrim. They were married on Dec 4, 1856 in the Rich Hill Church of Ireland.

William's occupation on his marriage record was listed as "Weaver."

William resided following his marriage I believe, in Clonroot, Kilmore Parish, County Armagh until about 1868, at which time he left and wound up in Comber, Essex, Ontario, Canada where he worked as a laborer on the Railroad being constructed at that time. He sent for Annie and their 6 children about 1871.

William had a sister, Mary Ann Breen who was born about 1845. She left for the US and married James McFadden in New Hampshire, US and then they joined William in Essex county Ontario.

He also had a sister named Isabelle who married James Reid. I have little more information regarding them.

Any additional information that any can help me with with regard to William or Henry will be greatly appreciated. I have additional information, including some photographs and descendency lists in Ontario I can share.

Thanks to all and best regards,

Bart Breen
Sterling, VA USA
