It should be remembered that a large part of the English county Shropshire was, before the latter part of the last centuary, a part of Wales. In the western part of the county many of the population were Welsh speaking and many of the Welsh place names still exist.
This situation occurs along the Welsh/English borders. Most of the Brees/Breese/Breeze families were to be found in this western part of Shropshire.
