I have a paragrah from a history of our Bresee family written in 1936. It says "In 1807 we find ur own direct ancestors in Delaware County and neighboring Otsego County. In the 1807 lisst of the Militia Officers of the Delawre Co. Militia, appears the name Jeremiah Bresee, Lieutenant. In 1808, Jeremiah's name again is listed, and the name of J.Bresee, ensign, is listed. In 1809, Jeremiah's death is recorded. At about he same time, there was a Tunis Bresee (the first Christopher had a son by thatname) living in Walton. He fought in the War of 1812, as did Harmon Bresee, our own direct ancestor." Thought the J Bresee might be yours. Would like any information you have about Bresee's in New York. I do have more information about where they came from. Eeanor Bresee Winters
