D. Bressee of St. Domingo and New York

I am searching for information concerning D. Bressee, who was living in the 4th District, 18th Ward of what I believe is New York City(?) during the 1860 census there. He was born ca. 1808 in St. Domingo, and was a doctor. He was married to Lowessa, age 42 yrs., born in Mass. Their children were: Isaac F. ( 30; b. N.Y. ), Lewis J. ( 26; b. N.J. ), EDWARD D. ( 22; b. N.J. ), Emily L. ( 18; b. N.J. ), Augustus (?), ( b. N.J. ), and Alfred ( 16; b. N.J. ). Any information about this family and their origins and descendants would be very much appreciated.
