I am new to the Internet. Re your l/29/03 posting about Jeremiah Bresee, I respectfully would like to add this info. My gr-gr-gr grandmother, Ruth Bresee Strain, was born 7 May 1815; died 27 June 1891. She married David Strain on 18 Mar 1831 and they resided in Worcester, Otsego County, NY. She was buried on the Roe Farm in South Worcester, NY and the undertaker was listed as "Overseer of the Poor". I believe one of her daughters married a Roe. Ruth's death certificate lists Jeremiah Bresee as her father and Melinda Hawkins as her mother. The only info I have found on them was a mortgage at Masonville, Delaware County, NY. I believe my Ruth was another child of the Jeremiah Bresee on your 1/29/03 posting. Also you had listed their child #6 as Hawkins Bresee. His name ties in nicely with his mother Melinda Hawkins.
