Hi Patricia-
I'm the one who posted that 2003 message. As Bruce suggested, if you click on "Post Followup" and post your message there, then the author gets notified automatically. Thankfully, my Mom monitors the Bresee and other forums and she discovered your and Bruce's messages. Welcome to the Genealogy internet world! There is some great data out there but be sure and verify the data as there are many errors also.

It is great to hear you have the death certificate and mortgage. As for Jeremiah's wife's last name, I've never learned it. The Melinda OLMSTEAD b. Jan 1823 which Bruce referenced was actually married to Timothy BRESEE b. Jul 1819. Timothy was a son of Christopher b. 1776 (Jeremiah's brother)and Agnes Rossman. Timothy's brother John C. Bresee b. 1807 was my ancestor and he married Melinda's sister Catherine OLMSTEAD.

Data on Jeremiah b. 1776 and his children has included alot of theory and not all that I posted has been "proven" by source data. Your theory about Jermiah's wife being Melinda HAWKINS especially having a son named Hawkins is a good point.

In my paper files, is some correspondence from a couple of Jeremiah's descendants- I don't recall if they were online or not. Email me direct and I'll check my files for their addresses or other contact information.
