An acquaintance purchased an old military coat (ca. 1890s) and the name "H.C. Bruister" was handwritten on the label.
In the pocket of the coat was a list of "Company A" with 53 surnames, including Bruister, 1st Sgt. The location of Company A is unknown, as is the exact date. If anyone knows of an H.C. Bruister who served in some military organization, any information would be very much appreciated. Haven't had any luck finding him or the other names in census records, but it's kind of like looking for a needle in a haystack. Thanks for any help.
