Benjamin Bridges, Rev. War Record, NC to Kentucky
Following info transcribed from my notes.This man is not my family, as far as I know.So many of the Bridger and Bridgers names were transposed over the years into Bridges, he could be "mine".If anyone recognizes him and his wife, would appreciate your letting me know.Anyway, Hopefully, the following info will help someone.
My Family is James Bridger family.James married #2 Kate Bartlett.Their son, Bartlett Bridger, b. 1794, is my ancestor.All from Wayne, Johnson, Greene counties, NC.

Benjamin was a Private, in North Carolina, 1776, for 3 years in U. S. Army.Pension issued 30 June 1818, sent to Mathew Lyon, Esq, Caldwell, County, Eddyville, KY.
State of KY, Caldwell County Court:Benj Bridges, indigent Rev. Soldier, enlisted in 3rd Reg. of Continental Troops in NC in 1776 under Cap. Jacob Turner for 3 years.He was in Battle of Brandywine and Germantown.Discharged in New Jersey by order of Gen. Washington.Age 66 (b. 1754), served under Capt. Jacob Turner of 3rd Reg. of the NC Continental Troop Commanded by Col. Jeffrey Sumner for 3 years and 6 months.Original declaration bears date of May 1818 and received certificate thereon which is #1289.
Property consists of 1 horse worth $30.1 cow and calf, $10
1 ax worth $3.1----? worth $1.50.
Family consists of wife, Francis Ann, age 59, feeble and infirm.1 daughter named Polley, age 22, who acts for herself and is not obliged to assistance.1 grandson age 6 years named James Anders, who is not calculated to assist me in my occupation which is that of a farmer.24 July 1820.Caldwell County, KY.
Court says (property ?) is worth $41.50.Descendant submitting papers for this soldier:Mrs. John S. Lowry, 415 Lee St, Dawson, Georgia dated 17 July 1926.
