Dear Darren, Thank you so much for the email. Regarding William on the 1820 census for White county, Tenn., there are two males listed as between 26 and 45. And there are two females listed as 45 and up. I found William C. in court cases for White countyfrom 1809 to 1816. Also a Leonard in a court case in 1815, in White county. On the 1830 census for White county, there is a Martha , age 60 to 70. Whether this William and William C. are the same or not, I don'tknow. How is your wife descended from the Brightwells? My husband 's great-great grandfather was Gainum Brightwell, the son of the Leonard that was in Rhea county in 1830 and died in 1839 in Meigs county. Again thanks, Imogean.
