Jesse Brindley

Could anyone help me with information about the Jesse Brindley family who supposedly came to Maryland from Germany in the late 1700's? Brindley does not sound like a German name so perhaps it was changed at that time. I am descended from him, son Benjamin, son John (in Cadiz, Ohio), son Hugh (moved to Kansas in 1876, daughter Mary (married her cousin John Brindley Baker), and their daughter who was my mother.
