There's an unresolved question about German Brindleys. We need to know who and when the first record occurs in Germany. The nam may have originated independently of the English ones, or there might have been an English emigrant. Nobody has yet addressed this. You ought to be able to find something out from the US immigration service if you know your ancetor's point of arrival. Have you checked the Ellis Island website? it's worth a shot.
