Hi John: that is terrific that you were able to find out more on Millicent's parents. I don't know anything more on my Brindleys. If I could get the marriage certificate of Thomas Leach and Martha Brindley I could at least get their place of origin. I could not find the marriage on Free BMD but I will keep trying as new data is added regularly as the volunteers transcribe it. It is possible our Brindleys are connected, especially as they both have the family story of being connected to James Brindley. :-)) I will keep trying to see what I can find on the internet. If you can get access to the census of 1861 and 1871 for that area maybe you can do a search for James and Lucy Brindley. If you have a street address it may be easier. I have never searched the census data so I don't know how difficult it is. Sometimes a kind stranger, who lives in the area you are concerned with, will do a 'look up' for you. I had requested a 'look up' on the Manchester page for another name (Boyle) I am researching, and an obliging person did respond and posted some information that added to my very limited knowledge. I wonder if the London regional Forum would be worth investigating? http://genforum.genealogy.com/london/ I haven't looked at that page myself yet. I bet its the biggest one there is! :-)) Notify Administrator about this message?
