Hallo Michael - I have a ggggrandparents called William and Carey (Ann) Brindley who lived in Cannock and had their first child christened in 1818 - but there is also an Elizabeth Brindley who was born in Norton Canes (which is a couple of miles from Cannock - I was born in Norton Canes aand now live in Cannock!) who was the child of William and Ann Brindley - there could be a possibility that Carey (Ann) aand Ann are one and the same but I don't have any further info on that.
It might be worth looking at the marriage cert of Elizabeth Brindley and William Groom who married at St Matthews church, Walsall on 27 March 1836 - it would perhaps tell you her father and also where they came from.
Regards Sheila
