Hallo Louise - there is a very strong chance that we could be related - there are quite a lot of Brindleys in this area, mine are Cannock and Rugeley - in fact I am back to William Brindley's marriage to Carey Ann Smith at Lichfield in 1817. I can't get back much further at the moment because the records then don't give his parents!.
See if you can find any info at all as I have the 1881 census and also I live in Cannock ( a couple of miles from Chasetown) so I should be able to help you.
