I am trying to run a similar Brindley Y line DNA project here in the UK. So far, only three Brindley men have had their test. We all have different male DNA! We need a lot more results to start to sort out the story. Obviously, some Brindleys will have acquired their surname through past illegitimacy or even adoption. Eventually, there should emerge a large block of individuals with the same DNA; that group would then be considered the 'TRUE' Brindleys - those whose ancestry is the same as the founding male. Gordon Brindley.
