I am the Brindley researcher for Edmund Brindley's clan. Edmund goes back to the Brindley canal engineer's family. James the canal engineer had a brother named Joseph of Alton who m Edmund's line came from. Edmund was born in England in 1819 and moved to America sometime before 1850. He had a daughter named Lydia who married a newspaper man from the Chicago Tribune in the 1880's. Her husband's last name may have been Murray or Murry. They had four children.
