If you are a Brindley male and want to know for sure if you are related to the Canal engineer James, there is a simple procedure you can do to prove it. A few of us Brindley males have had the procedure done which is just a swabbing of the inside of the mouth, and can compare our DNA markers to yours to see if we are indeed in the same Brindley grouping. Contact me if you would like to do so and prove your historical roots. It may also help us identify new arms of this famous family. There are lots of James relatives we don't know about yet.

Joe Brindley
