Dear Diane, sorry to tell you that I am defeated on this one. Getting data from Ireland is patchy. Brindleys first cropped up in Ireland from the 1600s on. There is a slight possibility that Mary was a daughter of Richard. I say this only because there were two other Brindley children born around this time whose father was a Richard Brindley, but I can't say where in Ireland he specifically lived. I shall keep my eyes open as new data comes in and let you know should a break through occur. Good luck, Gordon Brindley.
