Just to correct this message: in fact I was mislead by an enthusiastic contact who got me mixed up with sombody else. The true facts are that my DNA haplotype is R1b, which is essentially Celtic/Germanic. Some 40% of the European population are descended from a tribal headman nicknamed "the Patriarch." So far, apart from people called Brindley, I have found one genetic cousin living in the USA called Mike Moody. Our common male ancestor lived in the period before surnames became fashionable.ie. before the 13th century. Gordon Brindley.
