Hello Daphne, I am the direct descendant of Francis Brindley, corn dealer of Marple through Roberts older brother, Thomas. Robert also had a brother called Francis who also was a corn miller, who eventually moved to Grantham. Thomas Brindley was born in Marple in 1799 and was a farmer of 260 acres at Gawsworth Hall, Cheshire. As for Chapman Brindley married to Felice Chapman, he was Francis' father as you rightly said. Chapman's father was John Brindley also of Hollinsclough and his mothers name was Mary, possibly nee Chapman. John Brindley died in or about the month of February 1758 and Mary Brindley was the executrix of his will. It would be of great interest to me to hear further of your Warburton/Brindley background and your history. Notify Administrator about this message?
