Hi janet,
Elkstone parish was not formed until 1785 out of Alstonefield parish. But John Brindley was baptised July 3rd 1786 at Elkstones, of James and Ann. It may or may not indicate his age. The only marriage found that fits is to Sarah Brewster at Stoke in 1820. In 1841 census he is a farmer in Onecote with 10 year old son Robert. In 1851 they have children John 24, and a 7 and 8 year old with them. Sarah is apparently some 9 years younger than husband John.
bye pete from north staffs
