hi Shelley,
Canadian census records show Richard immigrated to Canada in 1878, going to Manitoba, and born C.1853. The only person fitting this is Richard, son of Samuel and Jane Brindley, living in London from 1861 census at least. However, Richard and siblings Samuel and Jane, were born in Birmingham in the midlands. samuel senior was a commercial traveller, born in Worcestershire, to Richard Brindley and Jane Pugh in 1819. His brother Samuel lived in Croydon, surrey, and married to florence, with at least two children, Samuel and Louise.
However, there was also a separate Richard Baldwin Brindley, born in Somerset. He was a Minister, married to Jesse, in England at same time as your richard was in Canada.
bye pete
