Maybe I can help you sort a few things out.My grandmother's mother was Purl Brinegar.I have been going through her papers and this is what I have found:
Adam and Thomas Brinegar (my gggg-grandfather) were brothers -- their parents were Jacob Brinegar (born by 1745, died by March 1783) and Mary Prock (born 1755 and died April 1821) I show Adam as being born in 1779-80 in Rowan Co., NC and dying sometime after 1870 in Ashe Co., NC.
Tho I show he had a wife by the name of Polly (last name unknown).I don't know anything else about Adam, but can fill you in on Thomas.
Thomas was born around 1770 in Rowan Co., NC and died sometime after 1830 in Ashe Co., NC.
He married Rachel (last name unknown) She was born about 1773 and died in May 1832 in Estill Co., KY.They were divorced in 1825 in Estill Co., KY.
They had 8 children and your "David" is one of them.I show him born January 27, 1796 in Clark Co., KY - married August 29, 1835 in Boone Co., Missouri - died November 1, 1885 in Boone Co., Missouri.
I show his first wife as Ann Wood and second wife as Frances Crump.
This is all I have on him because my line continues on with Thomas Brinegar Jr.
Hope this helps if you haven't already received this information from someone else.
