James W. Brink was born in Pennsylvania on August 29, 1835. By 1860, the Brink family was living in western Missouri. James Brink was hired by the Central Overland California and Pikes Peak Express Company as a Pony Express rider and assigned the approximately 80 mile route in present-day southern Nebraska from Rock Creek Station to 32 Mile Creek Station. He carried mail on the initial run of the Pony Express, receiving the westbound mochila on April 4, 1860

Born: Pennsylvania on August 29, 1835
Died: St. Joseph, Missouri, June 5, 1912, and is buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
