Services for Dorothy B. Brinkley, 88, of Elgin, will be held at noon Wednesday, at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Elgin.Rev. Steven Srock will officiate.
Born Jan.19, 1910, in Spring Valley, Ill.,the daughter of Raymond and Isadore Trone Boyle, she died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Sherman West Court, Elgin.Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
She had been a resident of Elgin most of her life.She was employed as a registered nurse at the Elgin Mental Health Center and was a supervior before retiring.She was a member of the Illinois State Employees Association and Illinois Nurses Association.
Survivors include her sons, Charles (Norma) Brinkley and Lynn (B.J.) Brinkley both of Elgin; grandchildren, Toni (Michael) Barkey, Christopher (Mary), Jason, Marc D. and Sara E. Brinkley; great-grandchildren, Brandon Zange, Alexandra and Cassandra Barkey and Jacob and Tyler Brinkley; and sisters, June Boyle of Chicago and Elsie Halsey of Lake Villa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles M. in 1983; brother, Joseph Boyle; and sister, Cara Holland Boyle.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S.State St., Elgin and from 11:30 a.m.until the time of services Wednesday, at the church.
