Joseph Brinklow was born at Flitton, Bedfordshire, England in 1871. In 1897 he married Barbara Gray at Ampthill, Hertfordshire. Barbara was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is a mystery as to how Joseph met her.
The 1901 census for Scotland shows that he and Barbara were now residing in Aberdeenshire.
Early ancestors of Joseph appear to be William Brinklow born about 1797, at Flitton, Bedfordshire. He may have been married first to Sarah, with a son, Joseph. He was born about 1820. This in the 1841 census.
The 1851 census shows a Joseph of that age, married to Jane, she was 36 years old, he 55 years. Two sons are credited to her, but not Joseph. Samuel and John Ring, 9 years and 5 years of age respectively.
Trying to trace the journey of Barbara from Scotland to England.
