Massachusetts and Rhode Island Brinleys
I have been entering information from my grandmother's genealogical book into a computer program. My aim is not to do extensive research, but simply to make available any information that she might have that is not readily available to those interested in tracking down ancestors. She was the granddaughter of Katharine Johnstone Brinley Wharton.Almost all of her notations have been very accurate so far.But I have come up against two problems.
1. She has Francis Brinley (1632-1719 born in London and died in Boston) as married to a Hannah Carr. She has noted that Hannah Carr may be the daughter of Gov. Caleb Carr of Newport who died in 1695.I have not found any information on her on-line that clarifies this.If no one knows anything about her I am not planing to research it any further.
2. She also has his son Thomas Brinley (-1693 born in Rhode Island and died in London), as being married to a Catherine Page. She says that Catherine Page is the daughter of John Page of London. Once again, I have not found any mention of her as being Thomas Brinly's wife.
Does anyone know who these women were or if her notations are accurate?
