I didn't think that Caty Brinley in the census was the same one - but was wondering who she might have been.
The only records that I have of BRINLEYS (including John [May?] Brinley) is what I've gotten from GenForum.
My primary interest in the Brinleys is really in John's wife, Elizabeth DOUPS, and her family! But there is no GenForum for DOUPS so I'm plugging along with her husband in hopes of gaining information about her family.
Her sister, Mary DOUPS, m. Henry McKENNEY in 1799 and could be the mother of my ancestor, Jonathan McKENNEY who was b. KY ca 1808. After Henry McKenney died, his wife m2 Henry BLANKENBAKER in 1813. When this Henry's estate was settled in 1822, there was no mention of a wife and so I assume that Mary (Doups)(McKenney) Blankenbaker had already died.
Jonathan would have been 12 or 13 when Henry Blankenbaker died and younger than that when Mary died. If Jonathan belonged to this family, he might have been taken in by any other related family such as Elizabeth (Doups) Brinley. Or maybe one of the Doups brothers. . . . . .
So I am definitely interested in the DOUPS. If you are interested in exchanging DOUPS material, perhaps we should go off this Forum since it doesn't really relate to it. What do you think?
