Brinston Y-DNA Project Established

The Brinston Y-DNA project will explore possible relationships between Brinston families of Newfoundland and those in various locations including England, the USA and other countries. Although it is likely the Brinstons in Newfoundland came from England, so far we have found no records of their arrival in Newfoundland or their previous origins.

To start we have tested a descendant of William Brinston (1787-1868) of Sound Island, Newfoundland. Male Brinstons of other lines from anywhere in the world are invited to participate.

Follow this link to learn more about DNA testing and how it might help with your genealogy research. If you join an existing Y-DNA project there is a price reduction for the testing.
