BRIODY/BARRINGTON Cavan>PA 1825
Posted by: Patricia Palmer Date: February 11, 2000 at 00:17:55

OWEN BRIODY b. 1789, left Ireland in 1825 with his infant son TERRENCE b, 1823, first found in Williams Township, Northampton County, PA in 1830 but surname is now BARRINGTON. Terrence used the name BARRINGTON and subsequent generations went by BARRINGTON. Owen left Ireland after some religious persecution during which time he was blinded. Nothing more is known about his life in Ireland. His death notice in the Easton, Northampton Co., PA newspaper of 1877 again gives his name as Owen BRIODY.
If you have any information on this, I could use the help. Thank you, Pat
