Although I can't help you on the parentage of Mary, I did find her in the 1900 NY census (Kings, Brooklyn, Ward 23) as a widow, born Aug 1844 in French Canada, as were her parents. (The 1880 Brooklyn census states Nova Scotia as her birthplace). Anne was living with her son Benedict, b. Sep 1876 in NY. Anne's other son Henry C. Briody was born Jul 1867 in NY and in the 1900 census is married with 2 daughters and also lives in Kings, Brooklyn. Since the family appears to have remained there for several decades, it might be helpful to look for Mary's death record in church and vital records of the Kings district of Brooklyn.
