Hello Charles,
I am guessing that your ancestor Joseph Britnal comes from Peter and son James born in England 1735 found in Franklin County, US.
I have done a lot of study on this group but could not find the link to James and Peter to their origins in England. There simply is no record linking them to any family there.
There are tons of records for this family on the net on various bullentin boards.
It is most likely that you will find your ancestor already recorded by one of the other researchers (there are many).
If you have any trouble finding anyone let me know and I will hunt some contacts down for you.
Or you can simply type Britnell into a search engine and find them that way. You will find plenty of pages with that one!!
Just let me know how you make out. I do keep track of the researchers but right now I am in the process of packing for a move and most of my genealogical paper files are already gone.

Mary Anne
